More Flood Pictures

As mentioned in a prior post the road I normally take to work flooded this week. This morning I was able to drive that way as the water has receded and the road is back open albeit MESSY in some areas. My friend and neighbor Lisa was able to drop her girls off and go back to take these pictures the 2 mornings ago. This was several hours before the river crested a few feet above where you see the water here.











You can see the river in the background and guage how far over the banks it was.














The sign that is mostly underwater is for a cement company. The fence is probably 10'.









The road I drive on goes under this building. By the afternoon when the river crested there was only a few feet of clearance between the water and the floor.

Note in the foreground that there is a 'telephone' pole. It isn't actually for the telephone, its to do with the train tracks that are at it's base. So, for reference that pole is tall enough for a train to pass underneath and is barely visable above the water. That afternoon it was completely submerged.
